hummel meets Laura Flippes
Which court was the first you “owned”?
It was on a court in Lingolsheim – a suburb of Strasbourg. I think I was around four years old. My mother was a coach for the local small children in Lingolsheim, so I went with her to the hall where I took the ball and started to play.
Must be a bit of a contrast compared to the courts you play on today?
Yes, absolutely. Now I play for Metz Handball, where I really like our home court. I feel at home here. And I really feel it is my court. It allows me to enjoy the game when I play at home. This is the place where I feel I can improve my skills the most and become a better player. I feel I “Own the court” when I exploit my full potential.
What did you have to sacrifice to become a professional handballer?
I had to make a lot of sacrifices to reach this stage. I had to leave my family, my environment. And when I was younger, I couldn’t go out like many other girls in my age. Or go to a club or anything like that. That was just no option.
Does the new Aerocharge Engineered STZ WS shoe give you the possibility to “Own the court”?
Definitely. I really like the shape of it. They are so flexible and so comfortable. I also really like the colors and the design. The first time I tried them on, I immediately felt perfectly comfortable wearing them.
